Advice for Road Runners: Built for the steady run, the Altra Men's AltraFWD Experience are the brand's first running shoes to feature a drop from heel to toe. The contrast in colour between the White upper and Green midsole highlights the prominent rocker geometry.

Underfoot Feel

The AltraFWD Experience Running Shoes feature a lightweight, compression-moulded foam. As a result, you should expect a protective, yet responsive underfoot sensation.

Designed with rocker shape geometry, the midsole helps encourage an efficient toe-off. It also aids forward momentum and delivers a smooth transition throughout the gait cycle.

Upper Fit

Made with Altra's Standard FootShape Fit, the AltraFWD Experience offers a spacious fit in the toe box. Whilst the heel area provides great ankle security. There isn't too much to say about the upper material. It's a comfortable engineered mesh that feels breathable.

Ideal Run Type

It is likely that these Altra Running Shoes are more suited to heel strikers than other Altra models. That's because the 4 mm drop in the Altra Men's AltraFWD Experience Neutral Running Shoes may complement that type of foot strike better than 0 mm options.

In terms of performance, the AltraFWD Experience Running Shoes should be most suited to slower to steady paced runs. As they feel protective at slower speeds, but propulsive as you inject more pace into your stride.

Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.

Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).

This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
